What are some important qualities of a good supervisor (boss)?

Before going to the main topic, let’s discuss about what the supervisor is first!

Supervisor is one who supervises or has charge and direction, a leader that controls the execution of programs and one who is given a task in an organization which has an authority to direct to subordinatecolleagues.

Everyone wants the same thing such as being a good supervisor. How to get and make it real?

Here will be explained some characteristics and qualities of good supervisor that the others are happy to follow:

1.      Creative and innovative

                A supervisor uses the creativity and has a way to think about the planning of many new programs. And don’t forget, she/he has to be creative in overcoming problem. 

2.      Be an example 

                       Be hands on – Do not just always delegate. At times the boss should take on     projects too. This sets an example to all the team about taking up challenges and about how any work is important. 

3.      Adapt to the changes

                World is changing at a fast pace. The efficient supervisors ought to keep up with it. A supervisor likes the better changes than before. 

4.      Optimism

                A good supervisor who has a characteristic of optimism will give many beneficial things for her/his self and the others. 

5.      Integrity

                Integrity is the quality of having strong moral principles. It means that what you say is according to what you do. It can make you easy to be reliable. 

6.      Discipline

                Discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior. The boss/ supervisor should be a good example for his/her team – Come on time, meet the time-lines, set a behavioral code if necessary.

7.      Responsible

                Usually a supervisor has a high responsibility over him/her because he/she will be guilty if she/he doesn’t act his/her responsibility.

                We can draw a conclusion from what I deliver that a good supervisor will work in leading an organization effectively and persuasively then give the best result.
